Reclaim Your Image
“Reclaim Your Image” is a collaborative art project in which models collage their own self-portrait from images others have taken from them
In the fashion industry, a model’s image is often distorted to fit the vision of external forces- photographers, clients, agents, and social media. In this project models are asked “How much of YOU is in these images?”
Images are drawn from various sources - work, friends, and family - each a different lens through which they are viewed. Models are asked to pick the parts of these images that feel “true” to them, in order to create a self portrait that is an honest reflection of who they are.
”Reclaim Your Image” is about taking the power over your representation back.
